Grants Roofing & Restoration is a Paisley roofer and one of the businesses in the Our Advertisers slider on paisley.org.uk. With Storm Boelo just past and another wind warning in force across Renfrewshire today, this feature looks at the part of a house that takes the brunt of the weather after the roof itself: the roofline, meaning the fascias, soffits, gutters and downpipes, and the jobs of that kind the firm has shared on its Facebook page.
Where to find them
The business is based on Brown Street in Paisley and works across Renfrewshire and nearby areas. Its Facebook page is its main online presence.

Why this week
Storm Boelo brought an amber wind warning, fallen trees and surface flooding to Renfrewshire over the weekend, as we reported on Monday. A Met Office yellow wind warning covering Renfrewshire runs until 9pm today (Tuesday 27 October), and it mentions a slight chance of roof tiles being blown off.
Grants Roofing has used its page through past storms in the same way. During Storm Ali in September 2018 it asked anyone with storm damage to get in touch, it posted a "weather warning" call-out for emergency roofing work in January 2020, and in October 2020 it said it carries out emergency repairs during poor weather. One festive-period post from December 2018 carried a simple reminder: "Blocked gutters cause problems."
Roofline jobs around Renfrewshire
New roofline work comes up often on the page. Some examples the firm has posted:
- Paisley, March 2021: new rosewood roofline fitted to a house. A photo from that job is at the top of this feature.
- Paisley, February 2021: new uPVC roofline across the complete back of a property, with all the downpipes painted.
- Erskine, November 2019: a full new roofline with new plastic end caps.
- Barrhead, December 2019: a full new roof, chimney removal and new roofline.
- Uplawmoor, February 2021: a porch given a complete new roof and new uPVC roofline.
Fascias, soffits and gutters
Other posts show the timber side of the work. In August 2020 the firm supplied and fitted new timber fascia with three coats of paint and fitted new deep-flow gutters round the full property, outhouse included. A February 2021 job in Jordanhill had all-new timber fascias, new plastic gutters and new downpipes, with the remaining pipes painted to match the building. In Newton Mearns the same month, rotten timber was replaced and new plastic soffits fitted, and the chimney was roughcasted because it was in poor condition. An Elderslie re-roof from February 2021 also got a new plastic gutter to the front.
Services on the current flyer
The flyer lists roofs repaired or renewed, slating, flat roofs, lead valley repairs, gutter and downpipe repairs, uPVC gutters, fascias and soffits, painting of fascias, soffits and downpipes, cement work, roughcasting, and maintenance.
If the weekend's wind has left you with a loose fascia board, a sagging or overflowing gutter, or slipped slates, it's worth getting an estimate from a roofer rather than climbing up yourself. Contact Grant directly to check availability.
