St Mirren are back on the road this Saturday, 31 October, as they close out the month with a William Hill Premiership trip to Motherwell. Kick-off at Fir Park is 3pm.

The Buddies go into the game on the back of a 1-1 draw at home to Hibernian on Wednesday night, when a late own goal earned Craig McLeish's side a point in Paisley. Saints sit seventh in the table on 14 points.

The opposition

Motherwell also had to settle for a point in midweek, drawing 2-2 away to St Johnstone. The Steelmen came from behind to lead 2-1 through Ibrahim Said and Tawanda Maswanhise, only for Josh Campbell to equalise in stoppage time.

That result did at least end a run of six straight defeats for Alfred Johansson's side, who had lost to Rangers, Aberdeen, Dundee, Celtic, Kilmarnock and Hearts. Motherwell sit 10th in the table with nine points from their opening 11 matches.

Last time out

The two sides have already met once this season, and it was a thriller. Motherwell went 2-0 up in Paisley in August, before goals from Paul Nsio, Declan John and Samuel Ramos put Saints 3-2 ahead at half-time. Jardell Kanga then struck in added time to share the points at 3-3.

Saints' last win at Fir Park came back in September 2023, when a Scott Tanser goal was enough for a 1-0 victory.

Tickets are only on sale online through Motherwell's ticketing platform, not at the St Mirren Ticket Office.
