Restoration and Creation, the upcycling business and creative hub on Browns Lane in Paisley, has turned its attention to Christmas. One of the businesses in the Our Advertisers slider on paisley.org.uk, it has opened bookings for its festive wreath and outdoor sign workshops and is busy making Christmas table decorations in the shop.

Christmas wreath workshops

Restoration and Creation calls the wreath class its best-selling Christmas workshop. You make your own wreath to take home and hang on your door. No experience is needed, you get step-by-step guidance, and all the materials are provided. You are welcome to bring a bottle. The price is £44 per person, including your finished wreath.

Their website lists sessions on 7, 8, 12, 13, 15, 19, 21, 22, 26 and 27 November and 6, 10 and 13 December, with a mix of afternoon and evening times. On 2 October the business posted on Facebook that six dates had already sold out: 15, 21, 22, 26 and 27 November and 6 December. Availability changes quickly, so check the live listing on the website before you plan a date.

Outdoor Christmas sign workshops

There is also a Christmas outdoor sign workshop, where you paint and personalise a wooden sign to display outside your home. It costs £35 per person, with all materials included and no experience needed, and again you can bring a bottle. There are three evening sessions, all from 6.30pm to 8.30pm:

Christmas decorations and gifts

Christmas preparation is under way in the shop. In mid-October the team shared their new Christmas table decorations on Facebook, featuring nutcrackers, festive colours and plenty of sparkle. One of them, a rock drummer nutcracker centrepiece, is also for sale on Etsy, where you can check the price, sizes and delivery details.

If you would rather let someone choose for themselves, Restoration and Creation sells eGift Cards on its website. They come in £25, £50, £100, £150 and £200 amounts, or you can choose your own amount.

The Sip, Shop & Sparkle late-night shopping evening on Browns Lane on Friday 13 November (5pm to 9pm, £5 tickets) is still listed on the website for anyone planning an early Christmas shop.

Open late for the Halloween festival

If you are in town for the Paisley Halloween Festival parade at 7pm tonight (Friday 23 October) or tomorrow, Restoration and Creation has posted on Facebook that Browns Lane is open until 7pm on both days for food and drinks before the parade. For normal opening times, please check the website or phone before you visit.
