The Russell Institute
Miss Agnes Russell donated the Russell Institute building to the then Paisley Burgh on 19th March 1927. Miss Russell had the building constructed as a memorial to her two bachelor brothers, Robert and Thomas Russell (R. & T. Russell, Solicitors) who had died in 1923 and 1920.

Originally an open plan department store, designed and built to a very high standard in 1908, the sympathetic conversion to a self-catering apartment hotel was completed in 2024 so that the building can be enjoyed by a new generation.

The Hazlitt comprises of 18 one and two bedroom self-catering apartments made of both king sized double and twin rooms. Each apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, en-suite bathroom and Wi-Fi throughout.
