Multan Tandoori on George Street was named Indian Restaurant of the Year for the South West at the 18th Scottish Curry Awards 2026. The family-run Indian restaurant and takeaway, which has been in Paisley since 1988, is one of the businesses in the Our Advertisers slider on paisley.org.uk. We've already written about the restaurant and its history and its menu and online ordering, so this time we've looked at the award.

The Scottish Curry Awards 2026

The Scottish Curry Awards are run by Oceanic Awards. According to the organiser, the winners of the 18th awards were announced at a ceremony in Glasgow on Monday 27 April 2026. In its published list of winners, Multan Tandoori (Paisley) is named Indian Restaurant of the Year for the South West.

The overall Indian Restaurant of the Year for 2026 went to Bombay Lounge in Dalkeith. In the same South West region, Everest Inn in Larkhall won Curry Restaurant of the Year and Gulab Tandoori in Irvine won Best Curry Experience of the Year.

Not the first time

Multan's own awards page lists Scottish Curry Awards for Best Restaurant of the Year in Southwest Scotland in 2019 and 2021. The same page lists Indian Restaurant of the Year 2026 for Renfrewshire at the Scotland Prestige Awards, and recognition from the Scottish Asian Food Awards in 2025. These earlier awards are as listed by the business on its website.

Trying it for yourself

Multan takes table bookings through its website booking page and online orders for delivery or collection through its online menu. The website says dishes are freshly prepared to order and that delivery can take longer at busy times. It also sells gift cards that can be emailed or printed and posted. If you have an allergy, the restaurant asks you to contact it before ordering, and it publishes an allergen list.

On the Food Standards Agency register the business is listed as The Multan Tandoori, with a Pass under the Food Hygiene Information Scheme from its latest published inspection on 15 December 2025. You can check the current rating on the FSA website.

Opening times

The official website lists Monday to Thursday and Sunday, 3pm to 11pm, and Friday and Saturday, 3pm to midnight. Some other listings show different times, so confirm on paisleymultan.co.uk or by phone before you go.
