Multan Tandoori is a family-run Indian restaurant and takeaway at 5 George Street in Paisley, and one of the businesses in the Our Advertisers slider on paisley.org.uk. We introduced them in an earlier feature. This time we're looking at what's actually on the menu and how ordering works, based on the restaurant's own website.

Cooked in a charcoal tandoor

The restaurant has traded since 1988, and tandoori cooking is still at the heart of the menu. According to the website, tandoori starters are prepared in a tandoor, a clay oven heated by charcoal, after being marinated for 24 hours in herbs and a blend of tandoori spices. The Tandoori Tikka section lists dishes such as chicken tikka, lamb tikka, mixed tikka, chicken shashlik and tandoori chicken on the bone, with several chilli and achari (pickled-style) tikka options for those who like heat. The site flags the hotter dishes on the menu itself.

Beyond the tandoor, the online menu is split into sections that include appetizers, starters, specials, specialities, masalas, kormas, curries, rice, breads, desserts and drinks. The Specials section lists dishes like balti butter masala, desi dishes cooked with onions, tomatoes, ginger, garlic and green chillies, and Indian-style fajitas served sizzling with chapattis.

Vegetarian, vegan and Quorn options

The website has separate Vegetarian and Vegan menu sections. The vegan page marks dishes with (VG) and covers starters such as channa chatt, chilli channa and daal soup, plus vegan mains including bhoona, Ceylonese korma and bhindi dopiza. Several of the main dishes are also listed with paneer or Quorn.

Set meals and kids' meals

For groups, the site lists four set menus: two for two people (a starter, two main courses and two sundries) and two for one person (a starter, a main course and a sundry). Check the website for the current set menu contents and prices.

There is also a kids' menu of chicken curry or korma with rice or chips, chicken nuggets, fish fingers, mozzarella sticks and similar. The website states that kids' meals are served free along with one full-paying main course. Because offers change, it's worth confirming this when you order.

Ordering, booking and gift cards

The website takes online orders for delivery and collection from 3pm. It says dishes are freshly made to order, collection orders are normally ready in 20 to 30 minutes unless stated otherwise, and delivery times are longer and can stretch further at busy times, so it recommends ordering early. The site also has pages for table booking, a gift card that can be delivered by email or printed and posted, and a latest offers sign-up.

Allergies

Multan publishes an allergen list on its website, with a notice that fryer oil contains other allergens and that bone fragments may occasionally be found in poultry and fish dishes. If you have an allergy, the restaurant asks you to contact it before ordering.

Recognition

The restaurant's awards page lists Indian Restaurant of the Year 2026 (Renfrewshire winner) at the Scotland Prestige Awards and Scottish Asian Food Awards recognition in 2025, along with earlier Scottish Curry Awards and Best Indian Restaurant listings.
