Doris Coffee House, which trades on Facebook as Doris Polskie Bistro, is a Polish-leaning café and takeaway at 71 Causeyside Street in Paisley, and one of the businesses in the Our Advertisers slider on paisley.org.uk. We've written about them twice before, introducing the café and looking at the menu and ordering. This time the story is a first-time visitor's verdict, a look at the bakery counter, and the practical details on ordering and hygiene.

A first-time visitor's verdict

Scottish YouTube channel A Scottish Odyssey posted a video review of the bistro on 16 October, and the bistro shared it on its Facebook page the next day. The presenter, who said they had never tried Polish food before, ordered a cheese and ham baguette, which they called "really tasty and really filling", and because they had ordered a Polish meal it came with a big side of potato. They said a member of staff told them that a lot of what is sold, including the baguettes, is made on site with fresh ingredients. The verdict was "definitely something that I'd recommend", with praise for the good-sized portions, the selection of Polish dishes and the staff.

What's in the bakery case

Alongside hot meals, the bistro's own Facebook photos show a counter of sweet bakes: glazed round buns, cheese-filled pastries and jam-filled swirled buns topped with crumble, set out on trays by the till. That's the photo at the top of this article. If you only ever order the hot food, it's worth a look at the counter when you call in for a coffee.

Ordering online

The bistro trades as Doris Coffee House on Just Eat, where its current listing shows two meal deals, a Wrap Meal Deal and a Burger Meal Deal, each £10.99 for any wrap or burger with a can of drink. On 23 September the bistro posted that it was back on online ordering through Just Eat and Deliveroo, so search for Doris Polskie Bistro or Doris Coffee House in either app to see what's currently available and which delivery areas apply. You can also order by phone on 07926 904764.

Food hygiene

On the Food Standards Agency's Scottish register, Doris Coffee House (71 Causeyside Street) holds a Pass under the Food Hygiene Information Scheme, from an inspection on 23 July 2026. You can check the current rating on the FSA ratings website.
