Doris Coffee House, which trades on Facebook as Doris Polskie Bistro, is a Polish-leaning café and takeaway at 71 Causeyside Street in Paisley, and one of the businesses in the Our Advertisers slider on paisley.org.uk. We introduced them in an earlier feature. This time we've looked at what the bistro has been posting lately: the food, how to order, and the opening-hours notices to check before you go.

Polish home cooking
The bistro's Facebook posts describe homemade Polish and Scottish food, and its posts are written in both English and Polish. A third-party listing on Staycation, summarising Google reviews, says the menu includes Polish dishes such as pierogi (dumplings) and goulash, as well as pancakes and desserts. The bistro's own photos show the same kind of home-style plates: a hot main of meat in gravy served with dill mashed potato, shredded salad and pickled cucumbers, which is the photo at the top of this article. A 4 September reel is tagged with potato pancakes.
Wraps, a full breakfast and a 55cm zapiekanka
It isn't only Polish plates. Photos posted on 29 August show large filled flatbread wraps and a full cooked breakfast on a plate, and photos posted on 18 September show coffee drinks including a latte and a cappuccino-style cup. On 9 September the bistro announced a 55cm (22 inch) baguette zapiekanka, the Polish toasted open baguette, as a new addition to the menu, with a launch offer of £8.50 for the first four customers over two days. That was a limited launch offer, so ask about current prices rather than relying on it.
Ordering online
On 23 September the bistro posted that it was back on online ordering, with graphics showing Just Eat and Deliveroo listings for Doris Polskie Bistro alongside photos of plated Polish food. Search for the bistro's name in either app to see what is currently available and what delivery areas apply. You can also phone the café on 07926 904764.
In the news
On 22 September the bistro shared that Darek PL, a YouTuber who travels around the UK looking for Polish and other food, had visited about a month earlier, and linked to the video on YouTube. As noted in our earlier feature, Doris Coffee House (Paisley) was also named Highly Recommended in the Best Takeaway category at the 2026 Scottish Entertainment and Hospitality Awards.
What other people say
Staycation's listing, which pulls from Google, shows a 4.7 out of 5 rating from 177 Google reviews at the time we looked, a typical price range of £1 to £10 per person, and notes the venue is suitable for children. Ratings change, so check the live listing.
Opening times: check before you go
Hours have been changing, and different listings disagree, so treat any list as a guide only. A Facebook notice posted on 30 September said that from Tuesday 6 October the bistro's regular hours would be 9:30am to 6:00pm. Earlier guides listed Tuesday to Friday 11am to 5pm and Saturday 11am to 6pm, and Staycation lists Monday and Sunday as closed. The bistro has also posted one-off notices: a late opening at 11am on 8 September, an early close at 3pm on Saturday 3 October, and an early close at 3pm on Thursday 8 October for family reasons. Check the Facebook page or phone before making a special trip.
