If you’ve been thinking about straightening your teeth as an adult, Dee Dental Paisley on County Place offers two routes: Invisalign clear aligners and fixed ceramic braces. Dee Dental is one of the businesses in the Our Advertisers slider on paisley.org.uk. We’ve already covered the practice and its treatments and how to register and what happens at a first visit, so this time we’ve looked at what the practice says about teeth straightening.

Two ways to straighten teeth

According to the practice’s braces page, every case starts with an assessment of your teeth and what you’d like to change, after which the dentist recommends Invisalign, fixed ceramic braces or another cosmetic treatment.

  • Invisalign uses a series of clear, custom-made aligners that gradually move the teeth. They’re removable, so you take them out to eat, brush and floss.
  • Fixed ceramic braces use clear or tooth-coloured brackets, so they’re less noticeable than metal braces. They stay on the teeth throughout treatment. The practice uses the Quick Straight Teeth system, which it says mainly focuses on straightening the visible front teeth, and the dentist checks your teeth and bite to confirm whether it suits you.

How Invisalign works at Dee Dental

The practice describes the process like this:

  • A consultation and full assessment of your teeth and bite, to decide whether Invisalign is suitable.
  • Digital impressions with the practice’s iTero scanner, which in many cases replace traditional putty impressions and are used to build a 3D model of your teeth.
  • A digital preview of the planned result before you commit. The practice is clear that this is a planning tool and final results depend on how your teeth respond.
  • Custom aligners, each set worn for the period your dentist recommends before moving to the next.
  • Weekly virtual check-ins through the Virtual Care app, plus a dedicated WhatsApp group for Invisalign patients to contact the team between appointments.
  • A Dee Dental care package at the start, including a portable ultrasonic pod for cleaning the aligners.
  • Retainers and continued aftercare once treatment ends.

The practice says Dr Dinah Naasan has completed additional orthodontic training and personally oversees Invisalign progress checks. It also says that if clear aligners aren’t the best option for your teeth or bite, the team will explain why and talk through alternatives.

Is it too late as an adult?

Dee Dental’s September 2026 guide on Invisalign for adults over 40 says age matters far less than the health of your teeth and gums. Before any straightening starts, the dentist checks for problems such as active gum disease or untreated decay, and plans around existing fillings or crowns. The guide also stresses that aligners only work if you wear them consistently, and that fixed braces may be recommended instead for some cases.

How long it takes and what it costs

The practice doesn’t give a set treatment time or price on its treatment pages. It says both depend on the position of your teeth, how much movement is needed and which option you choose, and that you’ll get a personalised plan, a realistic timeframe and a clear quotation after your assessment.

For a rough idea, the practice’s August 2026 Invisalign cost guide quotes general UK market ranges of around £1,500 to £4,500 for Invisalign depending on complexity, while making the point that only a consultation gives an accurate figure for your case. The same guide notes that NHS orthodontic treatment in Scotland is for under-18s who meet specific clinical criteria, and that Invisalign isn’t offered on the NHS.

Dental finance is available for eligible treatment, subject to status and lender approval, for applicants aged 18 or over who earn an income. The minimum amount differs between pages on the site, so ask the team for current terms.

The braces page invites readers to book a complimentary consultation to discuss Invisalign and adult braces. You can see before-and-after examples in the practice’s smile gallery.
