Local charity Kairos Women+ has launched a new podcast series created by and for women+ in  recovery from addiction, offering honest conversations about recovery, resilience and the  transformative power of peer support.

The series forms the fourth season of Kairos Women+'s podcast, A Brew and a Blether, and was  developed by women+ with lived experience of addiction and recovery. It aims to challenge  stigma, encourage people to seek help and raise awareness of the support available for those  affected by substance use. Through honest conversations and personal reflections, women+ share the realities of their recovery journeys and the hope that recovery can bring.

Women+ in recovery launch podcast series to tackle stigma and inspire hope in others

The series, made in collaboration with Erskine Arts, was officially launched at a community event  in Paisley on 28 August, bringing together contributors, supporters, partners and the local  community.

Podcast listeners can access the two episodes on Spotify or YouTube, where contributors discuss  the challenges of addiction, the importance of connection and the role recovery communities  play in changing lives.

The project was made possible by the National Lottery Community Fund – Community Action.  Speaking about the series, the podcast group said:

"We hope this series will inspire others and allow them to feel less alone. We hope by us opening up  that other people will not be afraid to ask for help. We want to raise awareness that there is a world  of recovery out there for everyone."

The podcast was created to raise awareness of recovery and amplify the voices of women+ with  lived experience of addiction across Renfrewshire.

Liz Cosh, Project Worker at Kairos Women+, said:

"These episodes highlight the strength, insight and determination of the women+ who took part.  Their stories show that recovery looks different for everyone, but that hope, support and connection

can make a real difference. We hope listeners will feel encouraged to seek help, challenge  misconceptions about addiction and recognise that they are not alone."
