Paisley Food and Drink Festival proved a real hit as more than 22,500 people turned out to get a taste of some fantastic produce and street food from across Scotland at the two-day event.

The sun-soaked festival, which took place on Friday 21 and Saturday 21 April, attracted crowds from Renfrewshire and beyond to Abbey Close and Bridge Street for one of the most popular events in the town’s calendar.

The event received lots of positive comments on social media. Ania Czyz commented on the Paisley Is Facebook page: “What a fantastic event that was! Thank you so much for organising an exceptional family event and great band choices – unforgettable performances!”

This year’s line-up saw more than 35 traders offering the finest street food, along with a host of licensed bars and a bumper programme of live music and foodie-fun for all ages over the course of the weekend.

Platform independent street food market returned with some top street food vendors and delicious dishes from around the world.

Festival-goers were also able to sample the delights of Three Sisters Bake, Edin-Burgers, Brigston & Co. artisan hotdogs and Greek Street Food, as well as the Fizzbuz prosecco van among others.

There was also the return of the Renfrewshire CAMRA Beer Tent, music at the Live Stage programmed by The Rum Shack and The Bungalow music venue and The Keg Stage & Bar.

Plus, there was lots of fun for the kids to enjoy with fantastic food workshops, free face painting sessions and fun games with Community Circus Paisley.

Paisley Food and Drink Festival is one of the highlights in Renfrewshire Council’s annual events calendar. Other fantastic events taking place across Renfrewshire this spring and summer include Sma‘ Shot Day on Saturday 1 July and Renfrew Pipe Band Competition on Saturday 22 July.
