The Smiths Ltd are returning to The Bungalow tonight. The Smiths Ltd was formed in Manchester, UK the hometown of The Smiths. After an extensive search to find the perfect Morrissey, the band played their first gig to an audience of avid Smiths fans. The response was spectacular and the band now plays at venues and festivals all over the UK.
Highlights include playing in front of a 2500 capacity crowd at The Manchester Academy, 4000 on the main stage at Bestival, Camp Bestival, Kendal Calling and 15000 at Spike Island The Resurrection.
If you never saw The Smiths, then this is your chance to experience the thrill of those great songs played live. If you were lucky enough to see them first time around, then prepare to relive that excitement again. The Bungalow Jam kicks off at 7pm on Tuesday. This week’s entertainment includes Music, Games, a Quiz and the usual Open Mic. This is free entry. The Bungalow Wednesday Club starts at 2pm with an afternoon of fun from singer John Griffith of The Bobby Deans Big Band the weekly quiz. Wednesday evening sees another poetry night from StoryTree. Doors are at 7pm.
On Thursday night The Bungalow is hosting a Pitch Perfect Movie Night on Thursday. The event is part of the venue's "Bungalow Introducing: Movie Nights" series and promises a fun, music-filled evening celebrating the iconic a cappella comedy. Only £3 at the door from 7pm.
Ronnie T kicks off at The Old Swan from 4pm tonight and following him is a live set from The Lockhearts at 8pm. Tomorrow at 4pm Freight Train ready to pound out some of your favourite rock classics. The Sunday Soul Club starts at 4pm. If you have nothing to do on Monday treat yourself and get to The Old Swan to listen to the fantastic voice of Crawford Carlyle singing some of the best ‘singers’ tunes at 5pm on Monday, Lee James on Tuesday at 3pm and every second Thursday at 5.00pm and alternatively sometimes it is Cammy Miller. Duncan McLellan will be onstage on Wednesday 5pm.
Greg James is playing at The Keg tonight from 9pm. Tomorrow night from 9pm it will be Bears with Feathers. On Thursday you can discover a full line up of new or up and coming talent showcasing new original material kicking off at 9pm.
Kennedys have Underdogs in on Sunday at 3pm and later at The Inn on the Corner The Latest Flames are playing on from 6pm.
Every Thursday at The Anchor is a Scottish Trad Jam. Join in and bring an instrument, play a song or join in. Or just sit back and enjoy the music from Mairead McManus, Katie Boyle, Johnny Canning and whoever turns up on the night. Starts at 8pm.
