Tonight, is the second sold out show for Deke McGee at The Bungalow. Mark ‘Deke’ McGee started playing Saxophone at the age of thirteen, after hearing Bill Doggetts ‘Honky Tonk’ played by the legendary Clifford Scott. He began studying the sound and the stylings of all the great Swing and Rhythm n’ Blues horn men of that era; such as Arnett Cobb, Illinois Jacquet, Herschel Evans, Lee Allen, Sil Austin, Red Prysock, Big Al Sears, Plas Johnson, Sam ‘the man’ Taylor and the great Texas Tenor King Curtis. Get in quick for tickets if you want to catch him next time. Support is singer song writer Ann Gair.

Outside The Original is an exciting project by James Finnigan of Hue and Cry and Stiltskin fame. This 6-piece band faithfully reproduces timeless masterpieces from the giants of progressive rock, performing a selection of classics by: Emerson Lake and Palmer, Genesis, King Crimson, Yes, Pink Floyd and Rush – the ultimate evening of prog rock.

James was telling me that they are delighted to be playing live at The Bungalow Paisley for the very first time, and hope that the local Paisley ‘Proggers’ will come along to enjoy our show. This is one not to be missed, the set list is full of all the best that Prog Rock has to offer and a few surprises. I’ve heard them in rehearsals, and I think they sound fantastic. Maybe I’m biased because I’m a big fan, so why don’t you pop in and judge for yourself. Tickets are on the door tomorrow night from 7pm.

Richie McMahon hosts another Bungalaff (11) on Sunday. The line up as usual is great and looks like this; Bruce Morton (The Still Game undertaker) Michael McElhinney, Cubby, Harry White, Jamie Kirk and Kirsty Lynch. Tickets on the door from 7pm.

The Bungalow Jam session starts at 7pm on Tuesday and it includes a Paint and a Pint theme. Doors are 7pm. The Bungalow has a Spree for All Special Introducing Night on Thursday and features The Nohans, Del Rosario and Careo. Doors are 7pm and Tickets £5/3. This the start of a Spree for All weekend at The Bungalow. Keep your eye out for more details in next week’s page for all that is going on in the town for the community music and arts event.

Do you dig a high energy performance? That’s what you will get if you pop into The Keg tonight to see Mark McMillian at 9pm. Tomorrow night Peely Wally is back, and they kick off at 9pm. The Old Swan have Head Hunters on tonight from 7pm and tomorrow afternoon Kong will be on stage from 4pm. The Sunday Soul Club starts at 4pm and on Monday from 6pm Clyde are back for another eclectic mix of music. Lee James will be singing all the best from over the decades on Tuesday and Thursday from 3pm and Duncan McLellan will be performing on Wednesday from 4pm.

The Cave has sold out a double bill tonight. The show is an Abba Tribute night which includes a Psychic floor show. (Hand ins may be available) Sad Ida are on tomorrow at 5pm and they are followed by Aimless Nomads at 8pm. If you fancy a jam with some amazing musicians get along on Sunday at 6pm for the Jim Keilt Blues Jam.

The Sunday Live sessions at Kennedy’s start at 3pm and over at The Anchor from 4.30pm Jenni and the Blockheads will be ready and waiting to get you up singing and dancing along to their songs.

Open Mic sessions next week are: The Abbey at 9pm on Monday, The Gantry at 9pm on Tuesday, The Keg on Wednesday at 8.30pm and Cottons in Renfrew starts at 2pm on Sunday.
