Tannahill Threads – Ferguslie Film Weekend – Public Ballot Open

As part of the Tannahill Threads Festival, the Tannahill Centre will be transformed into a pop-up cinema, with a 32 square foot movie screen making the Tannahill Centre its home on Friday, 11thMay and Saturday, 12thMay 2018.

As part of the Tannahill Threads Festival, the Tannahill Centre will be transformed into a pop-up cinema, with a 32 square foot movie screen making the Tannahill Centre its home on Friday, 11th May and Saturday, 12th May 2018.

Tickets to all of the screenings are FREE and can be accessed via a public ballot that is now open until Tuesday, 1st May 2018.

Information on each of the screenings we are showing is detailed below.  The ballot is open to anyone so I’d greatly appreciate it if you could promote it to your beneficiaries, service users and wider community.

FRIDAY, 11TH MAY 2018

9:30 am CoCo (PG)

Aspiring musician Miguel, confronted with his family’s ancestral ban on music, enters the Land of the Dead to find his great-great-grandfather, a legendary singer.

2:00 pm Slab Boys (15)

Paisley 1957 is the setting, and three working-class lads from the local carpet factory are looking forward to a staff dance and the rock’n’roll fuelled promise of sweet escape from the daily drudgery of their lives.

6:00 pm Black Panther (12A)

T’Challa, the King of Wakanda, rises to the throne in the isolated, technologically advanced African nation, but his claim is challenged by a vengeful outsider who was a childhood victim of T’Challa’s father’s mistake.

SATURDAY, 12TH MAY 2018

10:00 am The True Cost (12)

A ground breaking documentary, the True Cost pulls back the curtain on the untold story and asks us to consider, who really pays the price for our clothing?

1:00 pm The Greatest Showman Singalong (PG)

Sing along to the movie inspired by the imagination of P.T. Barnum, The Greatest Showman is an original musical that celebrates the birth of show business & tells of a visionary who rose from nothing to create a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation.

3:00 pm InSyriated 2017 (15)

Trapped inside her house in a city under siege, Oum Yazan, mother of three, turns her flat into a safe harbour for her family and neighbours, trying to protect them from the war outside.
