About Alan: Alan Donaldson tragically died at the age of 29 from Sudden Unexpected Death in EPilepsy (SUDEP) on 2nd of January 2010, Alan had lived with epilepsy for many years but he never let it stop him achieving anything in life such as gaining a first class honours degree and masters as well as travelling over the world. Alan was a loyal friend to many, dearly loved son, brother & partner. Alan would have celebrated his 30th Birthday on the 2nd September 2010. Alan had a passion for football, music and current affairs, he was a very intellectual young man with a vigour for life which has inspired many people to help support the charity SUDEP.

The Cycle: Jamie Grant (age 25) and Scott Duncan (age 30) from Renfrewshire are cycling 51 miles from Glasgow to Edinburgh (as part of Pedal for Scotland) in aid of SUDEP to help raise awareness of a startling fact that is not yet well known: 3 people die suddenly every day in their prime across the UK from epilepsy. Jamie and Scott are also trying to help Alan’s family and friends meet their fundraising target of £20,000 towards the SUDEP charity which they are very determined and motivated to achieving.

Other Great Fundraising Story
On Saturday 4th September 2010 – 125 family & friends were inspired by a photo once taken of Alan at the summit of Ben Lomond. They walked up the 3196 feet high Ben Lomond to celebrate Alan’s Life and Memory as he would have been 30 that week if he had not been taken by SUDEP.
