  • Crerar Hotels Trust has now made over £7m in grants over last 16 years
  • The Trades House of GlasgowCommonweal Fund is available to charities and organisations within the city of Glasgow and surrounding areas.

THE Crerar Hotels Trust today 28th February 2017 announces that it has awarded a grant of £3,600 to St Vincent’s Hospice. This is on top of £3,600 already awarded by The Trades House of Glasgow Commonweal Fund.

Sometimes patients can be quite anxious when they are admitted to the Hospice and we need to ensure that they can enjoy a good night sleep. Specialist mattresses help with the prevention of bed sores and offer the best comfort possible. We have electric beds which help patients’ complex healthcare needs as they are designed to provide safe patient mobilisation, which is crucial for many.  St Vincent’s Hospice has used the funding to renew one of their 8 electric beds and mattress, which, at 8-10 years old had become worn and difficult to keep operational.

Brigitte Main, Ward Manager states:

“The new bed and mattress is a huge improvement to the comfort and care of our patients ‘.The lady who is currently using the bed told me she is sleeping like a princess and having access herself to the remote control makes it so easy to get in and out of bed .  Thank you.”
