FORGET Hollywood if you want to make a movie or promotional video… because everything you need is here in Renfrewshire.

The past few years has seen an increase in film and media industry companies setting up locally.

Now OneRen – the local charitable trust providing cultural, leisure and sporting opportunities to help people enjoy active and healthy lives – has created a special showreel being broadcast on their online TV channel highlighting almost a dozen film, video and media companies now based in Renfrewshire.

The Moving Image Renfrewshire Showreel 2022 will be featured on Ren TV and you can watch it by visiting: www.oneren.org/rentv/archive/videos/moving-image-renfrewshire-show-reel-2022/. The project was supported by Creative Renfrewshire a network of local artists and creatives.

The showreel features local media companies Brick Lane Media, Studio 27, Newshot Productions, Media Monty, Studio FV, Kick the Door, Erskine Arts as well as talented local filmmakers Kevin Cameron, Paul Mothersole, Gillian Steel and Jack McKee.

Richard Weeks, Film Project Producer at OneRen explains: “If anyone wants to make a film or promotional video, we’ve got the talent and expertise you need right here.

“So if companies and organisations want to hear the shout of ‘Lights! Camera! Action! and make their name for themselves on screen, then they don’t have to look any further than Renfrewshire.”

Richard adds: “A few years ago there weren’t any film production companies locally, but now we’ve a growing talent pool of professionals making films, doing animation and video production.

“We’ve got the creative talent that can take someone’s initial idea and concept and transfer it on to the screen.

“In recent years, there’s been a lot of support for the cultural sector locally, particularly with initiatives like Future Paisley. Film production and media companies have been encouraged and are more confident to set up their base in Renfrewshire.

“We’ve now got a one-stop shop locally for anyone who wants to use film, video or television to promote themselves, their company or organisation.”
