The date is confirmed for the 2025 Paisley 10k Road Race and Fun Run.

A large crowd of runners begins a race, passing under a blue inflatable start arch. Participants wear numbered bibs and various athletic attire. Spectators and historical buildings are visible in the background under a sunny sky.

The event, which last year set a new record by attracting more than 4,500 entrants, will take place on Sunday August 17th.

It is a major date in Paisley’s sporting and events calendar – and in the community’s fundraising one too – with many of the fun runners raising money for charitable causes.

While entries are not yet open, event organisers OneRen are urging runners to save the date – and begin their preparations.

Councillor Lisa Marie Hughes, Chair of OneRen, said: “The Paisley 10k and Fun Run is one of the highlights of our year. We can’t wait for it. Whether you’re an elite runner, a fun runner – whatever your ability – there is something for everyone to enjoy. It’s so inclusive. The sight of all of the runners, cheered on by family and friends, really is something special.

“The start of the new year sees many of us set ourselves challenges to improve our health and wellbeing in the months ahead.

“Whether you’re a regular competitor or someone who’s never tried it before, why not include taking part in the 10k or fun run as one of your goals for 2025? Sometimes setting a target can be a powerful motivator to create – and keep – good health and fitness challenges.”

The Paisley 10k is Scotland’s third largest road race.

OneRen – the local charitable trust providing cultural, leisure and sporting opportunities to help people enjoy active and healthy lives – is supported by Renfrewshire Council and Kilbarchan Amateur Athletics Club in organising the races.

The team at OneRen will be supporting people across Renfrewshire in their New Year health and wellbeing challenges, with an array of activities and opportunities at its gyms, leisure centres and swimming pools across the region. Wider wellbeing opportunities are available at community halls, libraries and arts venues .

Mark Tokeley, OneRen’s Operations and Estates Director, said: “This is often a really busy time for us, with new people seeking fitness advice as they follow through on resolutions.

“We know that, for some, calling into your local gym or leisure centre can feel daunting. But they have no reason to worry. We have a great team who can help advise on the steps that you might consider to improve your health and wellbeing, physically and mentally. Whatever your age or ability, we have a fantastic network to support you.”
