Pupils, staff and families at Riverbrae School in Linwood have raised £910 for Macmillan Cancer Support after holding their own World's Biggest Coffee Morning.

The event, which included a cake raffle, was a real team effort across the school. Senior pupils designed the invitations and posters for the morning, and they also baked the cakes.

Janette Barr, a key worker at the school, said: "A massive thank you to everyone in our school community who contributed their time, talents and support to make the coffee morning a huge success.

"The funds raised will go directly towards providing emotional, practical and medical support to people living with cancer."

Riverbrae is one of Renfrewshire's two additional support needs schools and is based on Middleton Road in Linwood. It takes children and young people from nursery age through to 18, from across the whole of Renfrewshire.

The World's Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan's best-known annual fundraiser, with schools, workplaces and community groups across the country hosting their own events to support people affected by cancer.
