Renfrewshire Council is urging residents to make a resolution to have their say by signing up to a local panel that tells the council what people think of issues affecting the area.

The Renfrewshire Public Services Panel was set up to give locals a voice on local issues 14 years ago – and the council is looking for new people to join.

Renfrewshire residents of all ages and backgrounds are being urged to sign up and take part in four surveys each year which can be completed either online or by post.

Each survey takes about 15 minutes to complete – so being a member of the panel will only take up an hour each year, and members can opt out any time.

Renfrewshire Council Leader Councillor Brian Lawson said: “If you haven’t made a New Year’s resolution yet – why not make one to have your say in 2012? The Public Services Panel is a well established way of the council finding out residents’ views on a wide range of issues. The feedback we receive is incredibly useful when it comes to looking for new ways of working and ways to improve services.”

Residents who are interested should go to www.renfrewshire.gov.uk and click on the spotlight item at the top of the page and fill in the form on the page by 27th January.
