Drivers in Renfrew face more disruption from next week, with Station Road closing to eastbound traffic while Scottish Water carries out essential repairs.

The closure covers the stretch between Ferry Road and Station Crescent and starts on Monday 2 November. It's expected to last for several weeks.

Footpath shut too

Pedestrians will be affected as well, as the footpath alongside the works is also due to close, so anyone walking that way should allow a bit of extra time.

The repairs are described as complex and need ongoing coordination with SP Energy Networks. Scottish Water says it will keep reviewing progress as the job goes on, so the finish date could move.

A Scottish Water spokesperson said: "We're sorry for the disruption this may cause and thank local residents, businesses, and road users for their patience and understanding while we complete these essential repairs."

Another headache for Renfrew traffic

The works come as the town is already coping without the Renfrew Bridge, which has been closed to traffic for months after storm damage, so it's worth checking your route before setting off next week.
