As part of Renfrewshire’s £40milllion investment in the roads network, Renfrew Road in Paisley is the latest road set to undergo resurfacing works.

From Monday 8 July, works will take place to resurface two sections of one of Paisley’s main roads and are expected to last two weeks.

The works will take place overnight between 8pm and 7am to minimise disruption, with the road remaining open during the day and emergency access being maintained at all times.

The first phase will take place from the entrance to Pure Gym to the entrance of West College Scotland, on the northbound side of the road only, and are expected to last one week.

The second phase will see the section of road from Lochore Avenue to Turner Drive (northbound) resurfaced from Monday 15 July, with an expected completion date of Friday 19 July.

Councillor Cathy McEwan, Convener of Renfrewshire Council’s Infrastructure, Land and Environment Policy Board, said: “Over the next five years, £40million will be invested into our roads network which will make a significant difference to the quality of our roads and pathways.

“Renfrew Road is one of the main thoroughfares in the area so it’s important that the road surface is fit to handle the amount of traffic it receives, and this work will ensure that is the case.

“We’re trying to minimise disruption as best as we can by carry out the works overnight and also during the school holidays when the traffic is lower.

“Thank you to all in advance for your patience during these essential works.”
