Tucked away on Caledonia Street, a short walk from Paisley Gilmour Street station, Perky Forky is a friendly coffee shop that describes itself as blending artisan coffee with a menu of fresh sandwiches and hot meals. It’s a great shout if you want a proper coffee and something a bit more substantial than a biscuit to go with it.

Breakfast is a big part of the appeal, and from there the menu just keeps going: smashed burgers, stone-baked pizzas, wraps, paninis, toasties, pasta, fresh salads, loaded fries and desserts. They like a special, too. Recent favourites on their Facebook page include “The Beast”, a smashed burger topped with beef brisket, caramelised onions, cheese and their own burger sauce, and a high-protein salad box with chopped chicken breast and boiled egg for anyone being good.

You can eat in, order for collection or get it delivered, and their website was offering 10% off online collection orders at the time of writing. With cosy tables and a coffee that comes with a little flourish on top, it’s a nice wee find on the north side of town.

Find them at 13 Caledonia Street, Paisley PA3 2JG, or call 0141 260 1300. Their website currently says they’re open seven days a week from 8am to 3pm, but hours have changed over time, so check before you head over.
