Paisley Pirates bounced back in style on Sunday night, putting ten past North Ayrshire Wild at Braehead Arena in the Scottish National League.
The 10-1 win came a week after a 7-2 defeat away to league leaders Whitley Warriors, and the Pirates were in charge from the first face-off.
Eight up after two periods
Paisley led 3-0 after the first period, then scored five more in the second to go 8-0 up. The Wild got on the scoresheet in the third through Thomas Carroll, but the Pirates struck twice more to reach double figures.
Aiden Wilson led the way with four goals, and Chris Wilson added a hat-trick. Fraser Kerr and Ryan Parkin were also among the scorers. Cale Tanaka and Liam Danskin set up four goals each, and Bari McKenzie had three assists.
The numbers tell the story of the night. Paisley had 54 shots on goal to the Wild's 29, netminder Caiden MacColl made 28 saves, and the Pirates scored twice from their four power plays.
A tough weekend for the Wild
It was a hard couple of days for North Ayrshire, who had lost 9-0 at home to Edinburgh Capitals on Saturday night. Sunday's result was also the Pirates' second win over the Wild this season, after a 5-1 victory at Auchenharvie in September.
The win takes Paisley to 12 points from nine league games.
