“We’ve been doing very well both home and away this year,” said coach Ian Turley, “but this has the potential to be one of our hardest matches of the season. Kestrels have been showing a bit of form of late, and will be coming to Braehead Arena on Sunday looking to reverse the 3-1 defeat we inflicted on them at their place a couple of months back. They’ll be feeling confident, but so will we, so I think the fans who attend the game are going to be the real winners, as I’m certain it’s going to be some match up.”

“You’re always a bit worried when you go into a game which has the potential to trip you up, and last weekend’s match against Dundee Tigers certainly fell into that category, particularly as we were minus a few guys, and hadn’t played in over a month. I was really pleased, though, with the way they all stepped up to the plate and this team is maturing at a rate of knots. The goals were shared around again, which is very satisfying, and I shook the lines up a bit. It all seemed to come together very well in the end. We expect to have at least some of the guys who missed the win back in the fold for this weekend, and while we will give the Kestrels all the respect that they’ve earned and deserve, we’re entitled to think that we too have earned the regard we’re held in. We won’t be going into the game over confident, but we’re perfectly entitled to think we’re capable of putting on a show and giving our fans an early Christmas treat.”

“I certainly hope they turn out in numbers as the boys really appreciated the support they got on Sunday after an eight week absence from Braehead. The crowd was getting louder as the game went on, and like I’ve said before, a loud support cheering you on can make all the difference in a tight game towards the end!”

Face off on Sunday is at 6.00pm.
