Organisers have called this year’s Paisley Comedy Festival a hit, after four days of shows left audiences in stitches and strengthened the event’s place on the town’s cultural calendar.
The festival ran from 10 to 13 September, drawing crowds to Paisley Town Hall and Paisley Arts Centre. Hundreds of people attended across the four days.
Who Was on the Bill
Stuart Mitchell, Susan Calman, Connor Burns and Christopher Macarthur-Boyd all performed, and the programme also made room for new talent from the local and wider Scottish comedy circuit.
Calman’s appearance was part of her first stand-up tour in a decade. Mitchell performed on the back of his growing popularity on social media, while Burns arrived in Paisley after a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe.
‘Feedback Has Been Absolutely Fantastic’
Councillor Lisa-Marie Hughes, chair of festival organiser OneRen, said: “The feedback from audiences has been absolutely fantastic.
“With a really rich variety to the programme, we are delighted that they – and the performers – enjoyed themselves so much.
“The success of the comedy festival once again showcases the strength of Paisley and Renfrewshire as a destination for major cultural events.”
Third Big Festival of the Year
The comedy festival was the last of three major events staged by OneRen in 2026, following the first Paisley Arts Festival in March and the return of the Paisley Book Festival in May.
Planning is already under way to bring the Paisley Comedy Festival back in 2027.
