We are absolutely thrilled to share that MJC LAW has been named High Street Firm of the Year at The Herald Law Awards of Scotland 2025.

This recognition means a great deal to our whole team. It is an honour to be celebrated on a national stage, and, as far as we know, we are the first firm in Renfrewshire to win this award. That makes us especially proud to represent the area as this year’s High Street Firm of the Year.

Firm owner and director Matthew Coffield commented:

“I am so proud to share the good news that MJC LAW are the High Street Firm of the Year.

On Friday 7 November 2025 we attended the Herald Law Awards. It was a tremendous event and was attended by the very best of the best in the legal profession. The judging panel included The Law Society of Scotland, Crown Counsel, and two King’s Counsel among others. No sterner test is available, and we came away with the massive win.

We work hard at MJC LAW, every single one of us. We do well by doing what is right for our community in Paisley, in Renfrewshire and beyond.

We are excited for the future.”

The judges shared the following words on the evening:

“MJC LAW earned recognition for its strategic growth, strong financial management, and commitment to accessible legal services. Judges praised the firm’s clear vision, successful expansion, and effective scaling of community-focused initiatives that deliver measurable impact and long-term sustainability.”

Three vertical blue rectangles, each with a large white letter: "M" in the first, "J" in the second, "C" in the third. Below the rectangles, smaller blue letters spell out "L", "A", and "W".

Those words reflect exactly what we have set out to build.

We are incredibly proud of this recognition, and deeply grateful to our clients, colleagues, and community for their ongoing trust and support.

We have celebrated. Now, we are back to work, carrying that same purpose and energy into everything we do. This award marks a turning point, and we are ready for what comes next.
