Renfrewshire businesses are being invited to attend a ‘Meet the Buyer’ event to learn more about the opportunities available for council and public sector contracts.

The free event will take place at the Tweedie Hall in Linwood on Thursday 30 October 2025, from 9.30am.

Representatives from Renfrewshire Council, University of the West of Scotland and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde will be on hand to outline the contracts on offer and support local companies to learn how to do business with public sector organisations.

Business support and tendering advice will also be available from Business Gateway, Supplier Development Programme, Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Small Business.

Councillor John Shaw, Convenor of Renfrewshire Council’s Finance, Customer Services and Resources Policy Board said: “This event is all about connecting Renfrewshire’s businesses with real opportunities in the public sector.

“Renfrewshire Council awards around 200 contracts every year and spends £300million on goods and services, while across Scotland the public sector spends £13billion.

“We want Renfrewshire businesses, of all sizes, to have the knowledge, confidence and skills to bid for these contracts, as spending locally supports the sustainable growth of Renfrewshire companies and the wider economy.

“By coming along, they will gain valuable insights into how to access contracts, build relationships with buyers, and explore opportunities that could help their business grow and thrive.”

The event is open to sole traders, limited companies, partnerships, supported businesses, third sector organisations, or suppliers based in Renfrewshire.

Any business or supplier looking to attend can sign up at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/renfrewshire-local-business-event-tickets-1700290597949.
