If you are looking for something different how about a thought-provoking play by Burn the Cork Theatre Company this afternoon at The Bungalow. Set in the 1920’s, Airswimming by Charlotte Jones is inspired by “a Miss Kitson and a Miss Baker” who had been incarcerated in a hospital for the “criminally insane”. Watch in awe as this unlikely duo form the most unbreakable of bonds which unfold from the darkest of circumstances. There are 2 shows, today and Sunday. Tickets on the door both days from 2pm.

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Carpets (a Tribute to Oasis and Noel Gallaghers High Flying Birds) is back at The Bungalow tonight. With all the Oasis chat going on this gig will be a busy one. The UK’s biggest followed tribute to the music of OASIS and NGHFB give you a show that has a repertoire that includes Champagne Supernova, Don’t Look Back in Anger, Importance of Being Idle, Half the World Away, Supersonic to name but a few!

Four smiling men stand together in a warmly lit room, each wearing casual t-shirts. The background features floral wallpaper and a glimpse of musical equipment. They appear relaxed and happy.

They are the only Noel Gallagher Tribute in the world to have ever had a No1 in the UK Charts, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Carpets have toured all over the UK & Ireland and are the biggest selling tribute to Noel Gallagher in the world today. Regularly headlining in various festivals (and most recently playing to 6000+ at the Bowlers Arena in Manchester) it’s easy to see why this band have quickly become established as the best tribute of their kind. Don’t just take my word for it though, go check out their You Tube Channel ‘Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Carpets’ and judge for yourself. Tickets on the door from 7pm.

ModStuff is back at The Bungalow tomorrow with a free entry gig at 12.30pm featuring The Substitutes, Bits n Pieces and Berry Tweed and the Chasers. The event is a fundraiser for The Beatson, and local man Jamie Gatherer will be shaving his head to raise some money for this well-loved charity. Don’t miss it. In the evening you can get tickets from 6.45pm for the later show and on the bill is The Laynes, All Weller and Lemon Soul. Gerry McGuire DJ will be providing the tunes all day in between bands.

Pop into The Bungalow for an ‘anything goes jam’ on Tuesday at their Jam Open Stage! The Jam House Band will be there to entertain you and help any performers that want a bit of company. All backline and drumkit provided just bring your instruments. Doors 7pm. Pai-Slay is DRAG returns with their monthly fun show on Wednesday, this is a fantastic nigh and not to be missed! Tickets on the door from 7pm. The Bungalow Introducing Night on Thursday features a line of new talent. Tickets on the door from 7pm.

Mark McMillan is at The Keg tonight from 9pm and tomorrow night it will be Fire In who also start at 9pm. The Thursday Keg Sessions starts at 9pm for a full line of original acts and bands.

The live rock session at Kennedys on Sunday begins as usual at 3pm while over at The Inn on the Corner Small Town Sound the powerful duo will be pounding some classics from the past from 4.30pm. There is a full programme of live music at The Old Swan all week. Check venue for details. The Cave have The Paul Weller Experience on tomorrow at 5pm followed by Gallus Monkey at 8pm. The amazing Nightfly kick off at 6pm on Sunday.

Open Mic/Stage sessions next week are: The Abbey at 9pm on Monday, Ugly Duck Monday at 7pm, The Gantry at 9pm on Tuesday, The Bungalow on Tuesday 7pm, The Keg on Wednesday at 8.30pm and The Cave from 9pm on Thursday. The Inn on the Corner has an Open Mic on the last Tuesday of the month.
