Jennifer Walsh, acting head teacher for Kilbarchan Primary, said: “We are delighted with our positive inspection report and, in particular, we are pleased that the children have been recognised for their hard work, welcoming nature and always displaying our school values.”

Councillor Emma Rodden, convener of Renfrewshire Council’s Education and Children’s Services Policy Board, praised the positive report. She said: “This is fantastic news for Kilbarchan Primary and a well-deserved recognition of the hard work and dedication of staff, pupils and the entire school community. It’s clear that the school has created a fantastic supportive, nurturing and ambitious learning environment.

“Kilbarchan is the latest of nine Renfrewshire schools to receive a positive outcome following an inspection report. That consistency is a testament to the strength of our schools and the support from the central team. It’s also reflective of Renfrewshire being praised with three areas of best practice in a recent national report on all 32 councils’ education services. That’s proof of our commitment to excellence and making a real difference for our children and young people.”

Janie O’Neill, director of Children’s Services for Renfrewshire Council, added: “I am delighted to read Kilbarchan’s inspection report and love the fact that the children have been recognised in such a positive way. The acting head teacher and wider staff should be congratulated for their hard work and efforts in creating a nurturing and inclusive ethos as identified in the report. Congratulations to all involved.”
