Johnstone Fire Engine Rally is set to attract huge crowds to the town centre when it returns on Saturday 15 August.
Fire engines from days past and present will kick start the fun at 11am, parading from Johnstone Fire Station on Kings Road to Houstoun Square where there will be a host of activities on offer for all the family from 12pm until 4pm, including free face-painting and walkabout performances.
The event is being hosted by Renfrewshire Council in partnership with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Heritage Trust who will undertake a variety of fire safety demonstrations to give an insight to how they respond to emergencies.
Local radio station Johnstone Sound will be hosting a live stage programme from the bandstand featuring a selection of local performers across the afternoon, and you can support local businesses at the indoor market, organised by Johnstone Business Consortium.
The return of Johnstone Fire Engine Rally is made possible by extra investment from the council to work with local communities to deliver a calendar of cultural events for the area’s five main town centres.
Renfrewshire Council Events Manager, Pauline Allan, said: "The Fire Engine Rally has always been loved by the people of Johnstone, and I'm delighted that we are able to bring the event back to the town this year.
"Events like the Fire Engine Rally really benefit the community, bringing visitors in and increasing footfall to local traders. Our events strategy has collaboration at its heart, and it's been great to work with local partners and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Heritage Trust to deliver what will be a great afternoon in the town."
