Joe set to bring the X-Factor to Renfrewshire

X-Factor winner and Popstar to Opera Star finalist Joe McElderry will be the star performer at Renfrewshire’s Provost’s Charity Ball 2011.

Joe, who will compete this Sunday in the opera-singing tv show, will help Renfrewshire’s Provost Celia Lawson raise funds for local hospices St Vincent’s and Accord by performing at the glamorous event at Mar Hall.

Provost Lawson said: “This will be my fourth charity ball and each year we’ve had wonderful performers but Joe McElderry is definitely our biggest star yet. I loved him on the X-Factor, he has a fabulous voice so I am absolutely delighted he is going to perform at the ball this year.”

Guests will be treated to a champagne reception, three course meal and a performance by 2009 X-Factor winner Joe before dancing the rest of the night away with Life and Soul band.

As well as the money raised from tickets guests will be urged to dig deep for the charity auction which will include a range of fabulous prizes.

On top of the funds raised on the night, further cash is being raised for the two hospices with a raffle to win a brand new car, donated by Phoenix Honda.

To be in with a chance of winning this fantastic prize contact Lorraine Valentine, at St Vincent’s Hospice on 01505 705635 or email lorraine.valentine@svh.co.uk or Accord Hospice’s fundraising manager Ken Mathie on 0141 581 2000 or kenneth.mathie@accord.org.uk.

Provost Lawson said: “St Vincent’s and the Accord Hospice are two wonderfully deserving local charities. There are so many Renfrewshire residents who will know someone who has been cared for by their excellent staff and know how important fundraising events like this are.

“The charity ball is a great night, lots of fun, for a fantastic cause and is open to everyone.”

This year’s Provost’s Ball will take place on Friday 16 September.

Tickets are on sale now, priced at £70 each, £700 for a table of ten, for further information please do not hesitate to contact Heather Grant on 0141 840 3706 or Wendy Pollock on 0141 842 5225.
