Whether you have a pretty standard nine to five job and have to get ready every weekday morning to join the rat race or a more flexible working schedule, your morning routine is important – regardless of your professional and personal lifestyle.

So, with that being said, here for your information, and of course reading pleasure, is a comprehensive guide on how to greatly improve your morning routine.

Ban Smartphones in the Bedroom

One of the most important things to do when you are set on making effective changes to your morning routine is to ban the use of your smartphone in the bedroom.

The main reason for this is that, when you do scroll through social media and watch videos in bed, the blue light emitted from your phone is likely to not only disturb your sleep quite considerably, but also cause headaches.

Make Your Shower Experience More Than Just Functional

Part of your morning routine – hopefully, anyway – will always involve either a bath or a shower and the latter is far more likely when you are somewhat pressed for time.

One way you can greatly improve your morning routine is to vastly upgrade your showering experience to a Crosswater or body jet shower. Luxury showers are not only great for relaxing and soothing aching muscles, but will rejuvenate your whole body and also mentally prepare you for the busy and hectic day ahead.

Stretch Your Body for a Full 5 Minutes

Another way to set your mental and physical levels of well-being for the long and busy day ahead is to engage in full body stretching for five minutes after you have showered.

One of the most effective stretches which will awaken and motivate your muscles is the yogic ‘Warrior 1’ pose which you can perfect by following the following simple steps.

  1. Place your palms flat on the floor and your feet flat on the floor with your legs stretched and straight.
  2. Place your right foot squarely between your hands
  3. Inhale deeply as you rise into a standing position
  4. Repeat this pattern, inhaling and exhaling steadily and try to deepen the stretch each and every time

Stop Hitting the Snooze Alarm

Essentially, if you are someone who always sets three or more alarms within five minutes of each other and you hit the alarm to snooze at least twice, you are setting yourself up for a false start to the morning. Remember, that adult men and women require between seven and eight hours of sleep every single night; too little and you will feel lethargic and demotivated and too much will result in you feeling exactly the same.

Instead of getting up on the third alarm after hitting snooze, set the alarm for the third time and train your body to wake up and get up immediately. Soon, you will feel more invigorated when the alarm goes off, which will mean you are more focused and motivated.
