Going away on holiday doesn’t have to mean spending thousands of pounds flying overseas, especially when there is so much to see on home soil. Right here in the UK, there are hundreds of places you can visit that will quench the craving for whatever experiences you are hoping to have on your time off. With so many places to choose from, you may need some help narrowing down your ideas. In this guide, you will read about four amazing locations you could visit on your next staycation which are perfect for both romantic getaways and holidays for the whole family to enjoy.

Brightlingsea Beach

If you fancy a break by the beach, you can use Coast Radar to find many wonderful coastal retreats to visit, but one you really should check out is Brightlingsea Beach. Brightlingsea is a sand and shingle Blue Flag beach in Essex with a regional seaside award to boast. During your stay here, there are many activities the whole family can enjoy, such as windsurfing, canoeing, jet skis, crazy golf and bowls, making it the perfect destination for active families looking to have some fun.

Manchester

Perhaps a city break is more to your taste? If this is so, then Manchester is a must-go, and you can find a travel guide to Manchester that gives you the essential places you should make it a priority to visit. If you love culture, you can take in a show at the nationally renowned Royal Exchange Theatre or pay a visit to the idyllic Manchester Cathedral to take a pleasant walk looking at the gorgeous medieval architecture. As with many UK cities, Manchester has a great shopping and nightlife scene for you to enjoy during your stay, which is great fun for couples looking to get away this year.

Hampshire

When travelling as a family, many people have to factor in what they are going to do with their dogs. One solution is to find a destination for your holiday that you can take your furry friend on too. There are many tourist attractions in Hampshire where you can take the dog along with your family so that no one misses out on the fun. Hampshire is a great place for history lovers, where you can visit the Danebury Iron Age Hill Fort and the Exbury Gardens and Steam Railway to get a flavour of the local history and landscape.

Cheltenham

A final place you should put on your list is Cheltenham. This regency spa town has a wonderful mix of laid-back town surrounded by lush countryside, so you can get the best of both worlds. It is also home to the famous racecourse if you fancy getting dressed up and having a flutter on the horses. What’s more, Cheltenham boasts one of the best shopping experiences in the UK with a wide range of shops that even a former prime minister has visited to do his Christmas shopping.

With so many places to visit in the UK, you will never want to fly away for your holiday ever again.
