A paved walkway leads to a stone monument surrounded by low ruins, set in a park with lush green grass and tall trees under a clear blue sky.

Walking, wheeling and cycling charity Sustrans Scotland is working in partnership with the local community in Elderslie to collaboratively reimagine Main Road’s public space, with support from Renfrewshire Council. The ‘Elderslie for Everyone’ project asks the local community, businesses, residents and all who have an interest in the area to come together to create and design improvements. Experts from Sustrans Scotland will support the community and provide technical knowledge to help make the community’s design a reality.

A group of people gather under a yellow canopy outside a stone building with pointed roofs, possibly a church. Some people are engaging with items on tables while others stand nearby. The sky is partly cloudy.

The project area is focussed on improving the only on-road section of the National Cycle Network between Paisley and Kilbirnie, from near the old railway station in the east and opposite the Wallace Residential Care Home in the west. It also includes the green spaces in Stoddard Square, the green space opposite Wallace Residential Care Home and the area by the Network in the east.

All are invited to come along and share design ideas for Main Road at an event this Thursday, 15 August from 3-7pm at Elderslie Village Hall. This event is a brilliant opportunity for the community to meet with the project team and contribute ideas to shape the future of Main Road.
