Seventh aircraft arrives at easyJet’s Glasgow base supporting network expansion and 400 jobs*

Scotland’s largest airline easyJet is today celebrating the arrival of a seventh aircraft at its Glasgow base in Scotland, supporting 400 jobs including direct jobs for pilots and cabin crew.*
The arrival of the 186‑seat Airbus A320 aircraft is enabling the airline to provide greater choice and connectivity from Glasgow, including the launch of three new summer services to Pisa in Italy, Sharm El Sheik in Egypt, and to Malta.
The new routes are set to take off next week for the first time, providing customers in Scotland with even more choice when planning their summer getaway, whether they want to relax beside turquoise water or experience the culture and charm of Europe’s iconic cities.
To mark the arrival of the additional aircraft, celebrations are being held at the airport throughout the day including a live bagpipe performance and a competition for holidaymakers to win an easyJet holidays package holiday.
easyJet holidays is also running a limited time promotion where customers can save £100* on their next package holiday from Glasgow with the code GLA100. There are thousands of holidays to choose from, including beach escapes, city breaks and luxury getaways. All package holidays include flights and hotel, as well as 23kg luggage and transfers on beach bookings. The airline now bases 17 aircraft in Scotland and operates over 100 routes to 24 countries across the UK, Europe and North Africa, offering more choice for customers than ever before, with 10% of all of easyJet’s network now touching Scotland.
The arrival of the new aircraft marks a continued trajectory of growth for easyJet in Scotland, where the airline will operate its biggest ever summer.
