Whether you're nervous about using a smartphone or keen to find out what AI can actually do, there's free help on the way across Renfrewshire next month.

DigiKnowVember is back for November, with a programme of more than 260 events designed to help people build their digital confidence, learn new skills and stay connected.

It's run by a network of partners from councils and public services, charities, housing associations, colleges and businesses, and it's open to all ages and abilities, from complete beginners to people who want to take their skills further.

What's on

Events include digital skills drop-ins, employability support, AI talks and demonstrations, online safety workshops, wellbeing showcases and practical help with getting online and using digital services.

Renfrewshire Libraries, run by OneRen, will host drop-in sessions where Digital Champions can give one-to-one help with phones, tablets, laptops and online services.

The full programme is online now, with downloadable guides for each area so it's easy to find something close to home. You can browse and register through the DigiRen Network page on the Engage Renfrewshire website, engagerenfrewshire.org.

Why it matters

James McKee, the council's Digital Strategy Delivery Manager and co-chair of the DigiRen Network, said digital confidence has never been more important, with technology now central to how people use services, keep in touch, learn and find opportunities.

Council leader Iain Nicolson said the programme keeps growing year on year and is a good example of partners working together. "Every conversation, every event and every new skill learned helps create a more connected, empowered and inclusive Renfrewshire," he said.

There's still time for local groups and organisations to add their own sessions, with registration open throughout the month. Groups running several sessions are asked to register each one separately.
