Paisley's own Craig Ferguson has been awarded the Freedom of Renfrewshire, becoming only the seventh person to receive the area's highest civic honour.
The mental health campaigner gained worldwide recognition after walking over 1,000 miles from Glasgow to Munich for the UEFA European Championships. He followed this remarkable achievement with an even more ambitious journey this year, trekking 3,240 miles across the United States ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Through these incredible efforts, Craig has raised £1.3 million for Scottish Action for Mental Health, shining a spotlight on vital mental health support while proudly representing Paisley on the global stage.
The young campaigner remains deeply connected to his hometown roots, and his dedication to helping others continues to inspire communities far beyond Renfrewshire. With such monumental achievements already under his belt, there's a strong sense that Craig's journey in mental health advocacy is only just beginning.
