Community groups can cash in on intu Braehead charity fund

Local community groups are being encouraged to take advantage of money being offered to good causes by intu Braehead.

The shopping and leisure destination has a Community Fund, which donates up to £500 every three months to projects, groups and charities.

Now people are being urged to apply for these grants that can make a difference to the local community in Renfrewshire.

Staff at intu Braehead also volunteer to carry out work like landscaping, gardening, painting and decorating and repairs to damaged property in the local community.

The volunteering work is part of intu’s company-wide initiative encouraging staff to take time from their work schedule to help support charity, or community work.

Lydia Brown, intu Braehead’s community development manager said: “Our, Community Fund and the intu Volunteers Project was set up to help local charities, community groups and schools.

“It’s a great opportunity for the people of Renfrewshire to access funding that can be put to good use and make a difference to their local community.

“We’re an integral part of Renfrewshire and as well as supporting thousands lf jobs and pumping millions of pounds into the local economy each year, we also want to help people living in the towns and villages who are working hard for their local community.

“No matter how small a project or appeal is, we want to hear from people and groups who could benefit from one of our grants.”
