Canmoor welcomes Renfrewshire Council Leader Iain Nicolson to Westway

Canmoor, was pleased to welcome the Leader of Renfrewshire Council, Councillor Iain Nicolson, along with Councillor Jim Paterson and Alasdair Morrison, the Council’s Head of Economy & Development, on a site visit to the estate this week.

Canmoor, was pleased to welcome the Leader of Renfrewshire Council, Councillor Iain Nicolson, along with Councillor Jim Paterson and Alasdair Morrison, the Council’s Head of Economy & Development, on a site visit to the estate this week.

The visit provided the opportunity to showcase the recently completed developments at the estate and to share plans for future investment that will continue to strengthen the site’s role as a leading hub for renewables, logistics and defence-related industry. The Council representatives also outlined their future economic priorities and how the Council can support local businesses and investors.

As part of the tour, Canmoor highlighted its long-term vision for the park and raised key areas where partnership with the Council could help accelerate growth and unlock further opportunities.

Gregor King, Canmoor’s Director in Scotland, said:

“It was a pleasure to welcome Councillors Nicolson and Paterson and Mr Morrison to Westway. The visit was a great opportunity to demonstrate the scale of investment being committed to the estate and to showcase our recent, highly successful developments.

“In particular we were able to share our vision for the site including numerous new development opportunities and discuss how we can work with the Council to continue attracting investment and supporting job creation in the area.”

Councillor Nicolson said:

“It’s fantastic to have sites such as Westway based in Renfrewshire, particularly within the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District Scotland (AMIDS), as they provide jobs, attract investment and represent the long-term vision we have for Renfrewshire and its economy.

“Canmoor have delivered already delivered high-quality developments here that have attracted world-leading businesses and its future plans are a real opportunity to grow the Renfrewshire economy and create job opportunities for local people now and in the future.

“It was great to visit the site to see firsthand the scale of opportunity and to discuss how the Council could help Canmoor create the right conditions for growth.”
Canmoor remains committed to driving forward the growth of Westway, ensuring it continues to deliver high-quality facilities, attract new businesses and play a leading role in the economy of the Renfrewshire and the West of Scotland.
