A little way up Causeyside Street from the town centre, Caffé Pronto is the sort of small, family-run café that quickly turns first-timers into regulars. It’s run by Mark, Angela and Mirren, and the welcome is as much a part of the appeal as the food. Locals rate it highly too: their Facebook page shows 100% recommend, and it scores around 4.8 on Google.
Breakfast is the big draw. Reviewers rave about the breakfast rolls, crispy bacon and a proper cooked breakfast, and the house favourite “Causeysider” gets plenty of mentions. There are paninis as well (black pudding, cheese and chilli sauce is a popular combo), plus fresh wraps and salads. Save a wee bit of room, because the homemade cheesecakes are a real feature, and they even take orders for them at Christmas.
One to look out for: Pronto’s pancake stack, piled with American-style streaky bacon, two slices of Stornoway black pudding and a runny egg, finished with maple syrup or hot honey. When they posted it earlier this year it was £7, which feels like a bargain for a breakfast that will keep you going well past lunchtime.
Find them at 96 Causeyside Street, Paisley PA1 1TX, or call 07753 456197. Since September 2026 the café has opened Monday to Friday only, roughly 8am–2pm, and is closed at weekends. There’s a small step at the door and a bit of outdoor seating. Hours can change, so it’s worth checking their Facebook page before you go.
