A lively show about two of Scotland's best-loved poets is coming to Paisley this month, and it is being staged in the very building where one of them lived.

Two Poets, One Stage

The Twa Roberts draws on the lives and work of Robert Burns and Robert Tannahill. It is performed by the award-winning singer-songwriters Pauline Vallance and Penni Mclaren Walker, and comes to Tannahill's Cottage on Thursday 15 and Friday 16 October at 7.30pm.

The show sets the famous womaniser Burns alongside the shy Tannahill, playfully exploring what it might have been like to date either poet — right down to their imagined modern-day Tinder profiles and their taste in music.

Songs, Drama And Chat-Up Lines

The performance weaves together original songs, the works of Burns and Tannahill, drama and a few humorous chat-up lines. It has already played to audiences across Scotland, where it has been described as "a fearless, joyful show" with "witty, authentic, lovely music and song".

The Paisley dates are a little different from the rest of the tour, because they take place in the cottage where Tannahill himself lived and worked.

Tickets are priced at £10 and £8, and are available through Eventbrite.
