Browns Lane Creative Hub is bringing a little taste of Germany to Paisley this Christmas, with a festive gathering in its courtyard starting on Friday 6 November.

The small German-inspired event will sit alongside the lane's independent shops and creative businesses. The idea is simple: a cosy spot to enjoy some festive food, pick up a few gifts and spend time together.

What's on offer

  • Food and drink: bratwurst, roasted nuts, waffles and hot chocolate, plus Glühwein and German beer.
  • Gifts: German Christmas gifts and crafts, including nutcrackers and traditional incense smokers.
  • For children: crafts to keep little ones busy.

Visitors can borrow a blanket, grab a seat in the marquees and warm up by the fires under the festive lights. The lane's shops will be open too, with vintage clothing, antiques, art, jewellery and gifts to browse. Families and dogs are welcome.

The team behind it describe it as a modest event in a tucked-away corner of Paisley, with the focus on a warm welcome and a relaxed atmosphere. They hope it gives people another reason to pop into the lane, support its small businesses and enjoy some Christmas cheer close to home.

When and where

The gathering opens on Friday 6 November and runs every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through November and December.

  • Fridays and Saturdays: 12 noon to 7pm
  • Sundays: 12 noon to 4pm

Browns Lane runs between Andy's Chip Shop on Causeyside Street and The Bungalow on Shuttle Street. More details are on the "Browns Lane, Paisley" Facebook page.

It's a handy warm-up for the big Paisley Christmas Lights switch-on in the town centre on Saturday 14 November.
