Paisley’s town centre has one hundred and ten listed buildings, which is a higher concentration than anywhere in Scotland, apart from Edinburgh, the capital. So, it comes to little no that Paisley is stacked with an array of game and entertainment centres. In fact, Paisley was shortlisted for the UK’s city of culture in 2021.

Here we’ll break down the best entertainment centres for fun seekers visiting Paisley.

Casino Gaming

You can get stuck into the gambling scene in Paisley by immersing yourself in the many land-based casinos in town. For a more luxurious casino experience, why not visit Alea Glasgow, a waterfront restaurant, sports bar and casino in one, and just a short trip from Paisley centre. There is a wide variety of slot machines with a big selection of game titles. You can make the most of the frequent daily offers and rewards too! If you start to miss that authentic casino atmosphere after your trip, you can play online roulette games from anywhere at any time from your mobile device.

For sports lovers, Paisley is home to Scottish football team, St Mirren. The site is named after the patron saint of the town and the club was founded in 1877. A fun fact is that St Mirren is the only club to have dispensed with the managerial services of Sir Alex Ferguson. It is a historic ground full of passionate supporters, so it is certainly worth a visit.

Paisley is also an ideal venue for cycling enthusiasts. There are several scenic routes all around the town that can be accessed easily. The town is known for the beautiful surrounding landscapes that are simply a must-see for new visitors.

Looking for something to do this long weekend? Why not head out on the bike and discover some of Renfrewshire’s landscapes. Culture and History

You can see the world’s largest collection of Paisley shawls at the Paisley museum as well as artwork from the Glasgow Boys and Medieval manuscripts. One of the highlights at Paisley museum is a spectacular book, The Birds of America by John James Audubon which illustrated every species of bird in the USA in the 19th Century. Copies have been known to sell at auction for 4-5 million dollars. Also to visit is Scotland’s oldest public Observatory, Coat’s Observatory, which opened in 1883 and offers tours, a Planetarium, and telescopes for star gazing.

This next one is for all of you history lovers. Paisley has an Abbey which is over 850 years old and houses the famous tomb of Marjorie Bruce who was the daughter of Robert the Bruce. She died there whilst giving birth to who would later become the future Richard II of Scotland. There is even an Alien-inspired Gargoyle that has been sculpted amongst the intricate structures on the outside of the building, which is believed to have been done by a science fiction-loving stonemason in the early 1990s!

So, there you have just a small run down of the best entertainment venues across Paisley. From sport to history, Paisley is packed full of attractions that are certainly worth visiting.
