Friends of Barshaw Park have secured funding from Renfrewshire Council's Sustainable Communities Fund to explore an ambitious restoration project at the popular greenspace.
The group will carry out a feasibility study focusing on the 'Behind the Wall' area, which currently sits underused within the park grounds. Their vision centres on restoring the site's historic garden wall and buildings, breathing new life into this forgotten corner.
Plans include creating workshops, creative spaces and volunteering opportunities alongside dedicated areas for health, wellbeing and learning activities. The project emphasises sustainable restoration methods, recycled materials and wildlife-friendly design throughout.
