A fund to support families and local children has re-opened to applications.

The Whole Family Wellbeing Fund is open for applications by third sector organisations and community groups who have a bank account.

The £0.98million fund has been in place since 2022 and aims to support building a network of support around families who need it before getting into crisis. It is administered by Renfrewshire Council and funded through Scottish Government.

There is a maximum of £200,000 available this round, with bids being accepted up to £50,000.

Local organisations and groups play a vital role in reaching and supporting families due to their local knowledge and connections. The fund is designed to help them develop new and additional projects that enhance support available to local families.

Projects that can be funded include out-of-school and weekend clubs for children with disabilities, support groups for parents and carers of children with autism, and programmes that help strengthen family relationships, parenting skills, and more.

Councillor Emma Rodden, Education and Children’s Services Convener, said: “This fund is about whole system transformational change to reduce the need for crisis intervention by helping to support families before they reach that point. It has helped to expand the work of our third sector and community organisations and groups, and I’m pleased to see it re-open to new applications.

“The Whole Family Wellbeing fund is an essential part of how we continue to work towards get it right for every child, meet children’s rights, and Keep the Promise to all children and young people.”

Applications close on 31 January 2026.

People can apply to the Whole Family Wellbeing Fund on the Council’s website.
