A new £1 million indoor play facility at the Lagoon is on schedule to open to the public in October.
Renfrewshire Council’s investment in the Adventure Zone is intended to provide inclusive play facilities. The venue will be operated by OneRen.
An update on the project was presented to Renfrewshire Council’s Leadership Board on Wednesday 16 September 2026.
The Adventure Zone will include an interactive TAG active arena, described as the first of its kind in Scotland.
It will also have a sensory area for children with additional support needs, a baby and toddler area, a party room and spacious seating.
An enhanced café will serve a full menu of hot food and drinks during opening hours. The catering service will be provided by local supplier Brew & Bite.
The facility will have enhanced toilets and baby-changing facilities. Its CCTV system has also been upgraded to strengthen safeguarding.
A certificate of practical completion is expected once the final requirements have been met. Final fitting-out and operational checks must then be completed.
Staff will receive specialist training covering the equipment, safety and Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents requirements before the venue opens.
Phased testing and a soft launch involving key stakeholders will take place before the public opening in October.
