A record number of Renfrewshire pupils sat exams in 2026.
Presentation rates for National 5s, Highers and Advanced Highers are the highest they’ve been in the last 10 years.
Renfrewshire also maintained strong performance of awards at National 5 level. There were also more pupils achieving passes at Higher and Advanced Higher level.
Five percent more young people achieved at least one Advanced Higher in 2026 compared with last year.
Renfrewshire has continued to show progress in the number of young people achieving the highest level of attainment.
Gryffe High School pupils shared their future career ambitions on Results Day. They were among 4,000 young people in Renfrewshire to receive results from Qualifications Scotland (QS).
Young people can take a variety of routes into their future careers. They can stay at school, go to college or university, or start an apprenticeship, training or work.
Councillor Emma Rodden, Renfrewshire Council’s Education Convener, said:
“The results our young people have achieved are a testament to their determination. Their achievements are done to their hard work and the support they receive from families, teachers and wider school communities.
“Every qualification achieved represents hard work, perseverance and a positive step towards future education, training and employment opportunities.
“I want to thank our young people for all they have achieved. They continue to be ambitious and resilient, ably supported by our dedicated and committed teachers and school staff.”
Janie O’Neill, Director of Renfrewshire Council’s Children’s Services, added:
“Our young people are talented, determined and aspirational. They have worked hard over the last year, supported by teaching staff and families. I’m very proud of the work undertaken here in Renfrewshire to support young people to enter positive destinations.”
