People living and working across Renfrewshire are being asked for their views on the Council’s plans to improve transport and travel in the area.
Renfrewshire Council teamed up with transport consultants AECOM to develop a new local transport strategy.
Travel Renfrewshire 2035 will be aligned to regional and national strategies and identify transport and travel priorities over the next 10 years.
The draft strategy was informed by public feedback gathered last year where residents were asked for their views on transport and travel in Renfrewshire in terms of what they thought worked well and what could be improved.
Residents are now being asked to review the draft strategy and feedback on the proposed actions outlined in the document.
The second phase of engagement is now open and runs for six weeks with the public survey closing at midnight on Monday 28 July.
Residents can share their views by completing a survey either online or by posting a feedback form available at their local library. The AECOM survey and comment map are available to access on the Council website at: www.renfrewshire.gov.uk/localtransportstrategy.
Councillor Michelle Campbell, Convener of Renfrewshire Council’s Infrastructure, Land and Environment Policy Board said: “People living and working across Renfrewshire provided valuable feedback on their transport and travel experiences which informed the approach outlined in our draft local transport strategy, Travel Renfrewshire 2035.
“Transport and travel are a hugely important focus which impacts on everyone living and working in Renfrewshire.
“We have listened to residents’ views and would welcome their feedback on the draft strategy to help improve people’s travel experience.
“There’s a short public survey which people can complete online, or printed summary versions are also available at their local library. We want to ensure Renfrewshire is a great place to live, work and visit and I’d encourage everyone to take the time to complete this and help set the future direction for transport and travel in Renfrewshire.”
Feedback from this second phase will be considered in detail to help finalise the strategy and its supporting impact assessments for publication before the end of the year.
