SUPER Mario visited Paisley to invite local video game fans to an amazing event that will take them to a gaming Nirvana.

The world’s most famous plumber reckons the Glasgow Gaming Market is the place to be on Saturday, November 9, which is expected to attract up to 2000 gaming fans.

That’s when tens of thousands of classic and modern video games will be on sale and gamers will be able to find their favourites from years gone by.

The event, at the Glasgow Club Bellahouston, in Bellahouston Park, is the first time an event of this kind has taken place in Scotland.

Organised by Replay Events – the team behind the UK’s biggest gaming markets and the popular PLAY Expo conventions – the venue will be jam-packed with around 100 tables and 30 traders selling up to 100,000 sought-after video games and merchandise.

Andy Brown, of Replay Events said: “Retro gaming is super hot just now with a huge interest in video games of years gone by.

“Everyone has their favourite games from back in the day and there’s a huge interest in rekindling the enjoyment they got from playing these games.

“People can find their must-have game at the event and visitors to our previous gaming markets have told us they can’t believe they’ve been able to get their hands on their favourite games.

“Whether it’s classic games, consoles, gaming merchandise, old computers or even custom made artwork that floats your boat, you’ll want to be at this event.

“You could also find the perfect Christmas gift for the gaming aficionados among your family and friends.”

Andy added: “And if someone has a collection of video games they would like to sell, they can organise to set up a table at the Glasgow Gaming Market.

“We’ll have everyone from big-name traders, collectors and individuals selling games. It will be a real extravaganza of gaming and we’re expecting as many as 2000 people to come along searching for their favourite games.”

The event runs from noon until 4pm, but gaming enthusiasts can book one of only 500 early-bird tickets online for only £4 that gets them entry at 11am – and an hour before the crowds arrive – so they can get first dibs on the most sought-after games.

On the door entry at 12pm will be just £2 for adults and under 16’s go free when accompanied by an adult.
